gluten free use  
I purchased this toaster oven for exclusive gluten free toasting and cooking since I can not share a toaster with my family. I have had this toaster oven for over a year now and am very happy. Gluten free baked good always take a lot longer to toast so I cant evaluate how fast the toaster is but it does a good job for my baked goods. Toaster Needs to Come w/Set of Earplugs  
Bought this toaster after reading good reviews on amazon.com Found it on sale at Target which made it even better. However when I got it home and set it up I noticed that every time you push a button for the various settings the toaster makes a loud "beep". It also makes a loud beep when the timer is finished. Now I dont mind some subtle noises however the beeping noises that came out of this toaster sounded like a video game...sooooooo loud. It seemed to make good toast but I just couldnt live with the loud noises that it makes. Read the manual and there doesnt seem to be any adjustments to the volume or on/off of the noise. Seems this would be an ideal toaster for someone who is hard of hearing. Had to return this one. : 2010-09-16 12:01:38

Black & Decker Digital Chip Not Perfected  
I purchased the Black and Decker Digital Toaster/Convection Oven and have used Black and Decker Toaster/Ovens for many years and have been very satisfied with their products in the past. I use a toaster/oven on a daily basis to toast bake broil etc. I was so excited to see a Digital Toaster/Convection Oven but disappointed that it only lasted about a year and a half. I tried to bake a pizza one night and after the timer went off it was as raw as when I put it into the oven; pizza function did not work. Tried other functions and had problems with them also i.e. set the Bake function to 450 degrees and it would not reach that temperature; also had problems with the toasting. I think perhaps the Digital chip needs more work. Now I am back to researching which oven is the best for the money with the features I use etc. : 2010-09-15 09:42:12

Love it  
I was looking to replace a toaster oven which could handle the size of a casserole dish for baking and my daughter had just bought one of these so I got one too. This is wonderful. I bake my mac and cheese in it as it is too hot to turn on a full size oven in the summer. This toaster oven makes good toast and bagels not too dry and not hard and crunchy like most toaster ovens. I use it every day for everything from toast to baking casseroles. Yes it gets hot on the outside but almost all GOOD toaster ovens do. I had one that had the plastic on the sides that did not get hot but it was a crappy toaster oven. I really like the way it has a digital thermometer and seems to be more accurate than most toaster ovens. : 2010-09-15 09:42:12

with caution this type of appliance is very useful  
I read reviews on so many here on Amazon and saw how many warned about the heat of these appliances. At first I tried to set it up on a separate counter my husband had originally built for my bread machine but it became apparent I needed a better spot for it and moved it to my regular 24 inch deep counter over my kitchen cabinets. I feel very safe using it now and found the sides are warm but not scorching hot the top seems to only get extremely hot when you use it in broil mode. Naturally the glass door would get hot would you touch your oven window on your range when it is turned on? I wouldnt. I had it only a short time and bought the:

Black & Decker CT06301 Convection Toaster Oven  
This oven is large enough to be an improvement over my old toaster oven - small enough to leave me some counter space in my small kitchen. The toaster function works faster than my old one. Had to set the toasting down a bit which makes it even faster.

Convection is different than regular bake. It does help if you read the directions. This piece of equipment is not complicated but reading the directions is basic to using it happily.

I like it. It works. I would recommend it to anybody. READ THE DIRECTIONS to really enjoy this thing. : 2010-09-15 09:42:12
